Signed by the author at half-title page. Tan speckled cloth over boards with brown illustration across lower edge of boards and brown tiltling to spine. Pages have light marking to fore edge of page 15, small spot of soiling to lower edge of pages 584 and 585, and spot of soiling to gutter of dedication page. Text remains clean and unmarked. Endpages are moderately tanned with previous owner's signature to top edge of front pastedown, two small pieces of tape to front pastedown, and light foxing to top edge of rear pastedown. Text block is moderately sunned, faint dampstain to center of lower edge, and top edge might have once been sprayed a dark color but is heavily faded. Boards are bright, moderate sunning to spine and spot of soiling to center, and light bumping to corners and ends of spine; light fraying to lower corner of front board. Binding is sound, binding cracked at page 26 but still holds. Dust jacket is bright with moderate scuff marking to top edge of rear cover, moderate sunning to spine, and moderate scuff markings to lower corner of front cover; creasing, rubbing, small closed tears and light chipping to edges, corners and ends of spine. Corners of flaps cut. Dust jacket is covered in a protective mylar jacket.
