Maroon cloth over boards with gilt particulars to spine and gilt particulars in decorative gilt rule to front board. Plates are clean, bright and unmarked, but there is light rubbing to facing pages and to top edge of first 'List of Plates' page. Light foxing to lower edge of first 'List of Plates' page. Tanning to edges of endpapers and previous owner's bookplate, store sticker, and name in pen to front pastedown. Text block has soiling to fore edge and top edge, light foxing to lower edge, and top edge was once sprayed black but is heavily faded. Boards have slight discoloration to top edge of front board, fore edge of rear board, and along spine; fraying, bumping and rubbing to corners and ends of spine.
