Full leather boards with 5 raised bands, ornate gilt decorations, and gilt title in black compartment to spine, and gilt-debossed particulars to front board. All edges marbled. Marbled endpages are clean and unmarked. Pages have light to moderate foxing to margins throughout, tearing to edge of front fold-out map, previous owner's writing to back of first free endpaper and moderate foxing to rear fold-out map. Text, illustrations, and illustrated plates are clean and unmarked. Text block is sunned with moderate rubbing to lower edge and top edge, and soiling to top edge near headcap. Boards have moderate scattered soiling and scuffing, crease down center of rear board, and light bumping and rubbing to edges, corners and ends of spine. Binding is tight, rear board bows inward.
