Signed and inscribed by the author using her pseudonym "Betsy Hamilton". Dark green textured cloth over boards with gilt title and decorative diamonds in gilt rule to front board. Previous owner's name written at front pastedown; heavy foxing to front flyleaf and frontispiece; soiling and foxing to margins and gutter scattered throughout; stamping from text to a few pages throughout. Text block is sunned, soiled and foxed; foxing to endpapers. Boards are soiled with chipping and fraying to cloth along spine edge; rubbing, bumping and creasing to edges, corners and ends of spine. Binding is tight, spine leans.
