First Edition. Maroon cloth over boards with gilt titling and two decorate bands to spine, gilt illustration in gilt rule to front board, and gilt illustration to lower edge of rear board. Moderate tanning to gutter of half-title page; otherwise, pages and illustrations are clean and unmarked. Decorative endpages have light foxing to inner hinge and to fore edge of front pastedown. Text block is lightly sunned and scuffed, and top edge is gilt with light soiling and scuffing to corner. Boards are clean and bright with moderate bumping and rubbing to ends of spine, heavy bumping and light rubbing to corners, and light sunning to spine; bump to top edge of rear board. Binding is tight, spine is slightly cocked. Dust jacket has sunning to spine, light to moderate chipping to corners and ends of spine, creasing to edges and light scattered soiling; dampstain to top edge. Dust jacket is covered in a protective mylar jacket.
