Signed and inscribed by the author at half-title page. Black cloth over boards with gilt particulars to spine and gilt emblem to center of front board. Pages have writing in pencil to center of title page, light foxing to margins of facing pages of plates, and fold to lower corner of page 180; otherwise, text remains clean and unmarked. Endpages have small stamp to lower edge of first free endpaper and light tanning to inner hinges. Text block has light foxing to lower edge and fore edge, and heavy soiling with scattered dampstains to top edge. Boards are clean and bright with light bumping to corners, moderate bumping and light rubbing to ends of spine, and boards bow outward at top edge. Binding is tight. Dust jacket has tearing along spine edge with previous owner's tape repairs along spine edges and headcap, creasing and rubbing to edges, and creasing, rubbing and moderate chipping to corners and ends of spine; moderate soiling to top edge of rear flap and light soiling to top edge of front flap. Dust jacket is covered in a protective mylar jacket.
